Tales of an amp gone wrong

First off, thanks to everyone who made it out to the show last night. Adams’ Morgan sure does get crazy on a Friday night, doesn’t it?

Something was just plain weird about playing in that little glass box of a stage they have at Asylum. DeVille mentioned that it would be a good idea to set up our amps AWAY from us, as their rhythm guitarist only heard their lead and vica versa. And maybe you didn’t or maybe you did notice, but my guitar amp lost all distortion halfway through “Far Behind This Game.” I’m still not sure what happened because when I plugged it in at home after the show … worked perfectly! Also, Nate’s vocal mic died sometime during the beginning of the show as well, so we were missing a lot of his Nate-isms. (Good or bad, you decide!)

But we rallied through, and to be honest, I think it turned out pretty good if I can say so myself. We got lots of positive feedback on the show from the audience, and that always makes us feel great!

We’ve got a tentative show scheduled for July 3rd, and it’s going to be completely different from any venue we’ve played at so far. If it works out, we’ll let you know. But until then, keep that day open just in case!

But there are bigger things in store for Elementary – we’re going to record our first album! We’ve found our producer and studio, and are now ironing out the details of when and which songs. We’ll definitely keep you updated, so stay tuned!

  1. What’s worse, Nate-isms or Steve-isms?

  2. Stever Jun 22nd 2010

Easy. I’d say a Steve-ism is waaaay worse, but then again, they’ve been pretty much curbed!

  3. Only during shows. We still have to listen to you during practice… hmm… wait a minute…
